Tips For Getting The Most Out Of Your Mascara

A good brand of mascara is a staple item in every girl’s make-up bag. Getting the right type of mascara is important as it enables you to not only add length to your natural eyelashes but also add volume to make your lashes look thicker and more striking. There are numerous brands on the market varying in price to suit every pocket. The more modern types of applicator are designed to add volume without battling with unsightly clumps. Many mascaras now have added ingredients such as vitamin E and argan oil to condition your lashes, much as you would condition your hair.

mascara wand
Plenty of options
Once you have chosen your product you will obviously want to get the most out of it and make sure you get value for money. A common mistake is to pump the applicator wand into the tube to load the mascara but resist the temptation to do this as it allows too much air into the tube which results in the product drying out.

When applying mascara, begin at the root of the eyelash and work your way across ensuring even coverage. You can apply as many coats of mascara as you wish to achieve the desired look. An application on both sides of the lashes will add more length and volume.

Another simple way to add volume is to use a primer either before or after you apply your normal mascara. Alternatively, for a quick and easy way to achieve a hint of natural colour use the primer on its own.

false eyelashes mascara
Add a little body
If your natural lashes are thin or sparse, instead of trying to increase volume using mascara, why not try a set of false eyelashes to add length and volume to your look? You might even find them easier to apply than getting mascara right. A selection of false eyelashes is available from Miss20 Beauty. You can experiment with different types and apply your everyday mascara to them to achieve the desired effect.

Think Citrus and Denim for Spring 2015

This spring it’s all about zingy citrus colours – lemon, lime and tangerine to name the most popular. The basic idea is to harness the natural zest of sunshine and sunshine shades to put a spring in your step after a long dark winter. Citrus and denim, an excellent combo - how ‘70’s - cool, man!

Citrus and Denim bows
Bows Galore!
As with the other major spring trend for denim in all shades imaginable, the idea is to use blocks of spring citrus shades as a fashion statement or to utilise one or two key pieces as a nod to the current vogue. Then how about adding a lovely citrus or denim coloured scarf or bow to add a hint of spring fashion to your outfit?

The other major trend this spring season is denim – either showcasing a single key piece – think classic denim jacket or skirt, not to mention your favourite jeans in whatever style you favour – or the layered denim look made up of several shades of the blue stuff, perhaps teamed with a crisp white tee or blouse for added impact. If in doubt release your inner 70’s rock chick for inspiration.

Finish your outfit with a matching or complementary pair of boots or sandals to complete the look. Citrus, denim and white go amazingly well together or you could try out a single colour block for more of a statement.

Wearing a striking necklace or some other fashion jewellery will complete the look.
Miss20 Beauty has a lovely range of scarves and bows that has a colour and style to suit all ensembles and pockets. There is also an extensive range of jewellery and bracelets to add that perfect finishing touch to your outfit.
